The Business Analyst (BA) serves as the critical bridge between customers and internal delivery teams throughout the pre-sales consulting engagement and into product delivery. Working directly with prospects and existing customers, the BA leads requirement discovery, translates business needs into transparent and validated documentation, and hands off well-defined specifications to the SSE, Product, and Engineering teams for build. Operating across Sales, SSE, Product, and Engineering, the BA owns the end-to-end requirement lifecycle in the following sequence: joining Sales calls to understand customer requirements, documenting and validating them with Product, authoring detailed FRDs / BRDs / PRDs, and sharing them with SSE and/or Engineering to build while maintaining an active feedback loop until the solution is validated and delivered.

The role ensures that what the customer needs, what Product approves, and what Engineering builds remain fully aligned at every stage which can be later merged as part of the standard product.

1. Requirement Elicitation & Documentation The BA leads the front of the engagement capturing what the customer truly needs and converting it into unambiguous, build-ready documentation. Customer Discovery: Lead discovery sessions, functional and technical interviews with customers and internal stakeholders, including joining calls alongside the Sales team to capture underlying business needs, pain points, current workflows, and success criteria. Documentation Creation: Draft comprehensive Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), process flowcharts, and technical specifications that clearly define scope and expected outcomes. Validation with Product: Review and validate documented requirements with the Product team to confirm alignment with product direction before anything moves into build. Handoff Management: Effectively communicate the finalized, validated requirements to the SSE, Product, and Engineering teams,



ensuring complete alignment and shared understanding before development begins.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination & Alignment Once requirements are documented, the BA keeps every team in the same direction and manages expectations across the engagement. Inter-Departmental Liaison: Function as the single point of contact bridging Sales, SSE, Product, and Engineering resolving ambiguities, reconciling competing priorities, and managing expectations across all stakeholders. Technical & Sales Alignment: Assist the Sales and SSE teams in evaluating feasibility, implementation timelines, and technical scope for prospective clients during both pre-sales and post-sales phases. Feedback Loop: Maintain an ongoing, structured feedback loop between customer-facing teams and internal development teams to track request statuses, surface blockers early, and mitigate project risks. 4.

Product

Management Support & Feature Scoping In parallel, the BA supports Product Managers in following areas: Request Evaluation: Assess incoming customer requests against product strategy, determining whether each request fits the core product roadmap or requires a custom solution. Depending on the final business call, pursue respective work types. R&D; & Market Research: Conduct preliminary research, competitive analyses, and feasibility studies to support Product Managers in evaluating potential product enhancements.

Agile Story Writing: Break down complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories, complete it with explicit Acceptance Criteria, edge cases, and a defined Definition of Done (DoD).

5. Execution & Delivery Support The BA stays engaged through build and release to ensure what is delivered matches what was agreed. Backlog Refinement: Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and estimation sessions with Engineering and Product Managers to keep priorities clear and well-scoped. Acceptance & Validation: Validate that developed features meet the specified business requirements and acceptance criteria before final customer delivery or release.
