BIM Estimation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM Estimation Engineer to support quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and project budgeting using Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in extracting quantities from BIM models, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with design and project teams, and ensuring accurate project cost forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and material estimations from BIM models.

- Develop and maintain cost estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and project budgets.

- Review architectural, structural, and MEP models for estimation purposes.

- Utilize BIM software to extract quantities and generate reports.

- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to validate project scope and quantities.

- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents for cost planning.

- Assist in tender preparation, bid evaluation, and procurement support.

- Identify quantity discrepancies and provide value engineering recommendations.

- Monitor project changes and update estimates accordingly.

- Generate cost reports, estimation dashboards, and project cost analyses.

- Ensure compliance with company standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications





- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

- 2–8 years of experience in BIM-based quantity surveying or construction estimation.

- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costing principles.

- Experience in preparing BOQs and tender documentation.

- Knowledge of BIM workflows and model-based quantity extraction.

Technical Skills

- BIM Software: Autodesk Revit

- Quantity Take-Off Tools: Autodesk Navisworks, CostX

- Estimation Tools: Microsoft Excel, PlanSwift

- BIM Platforms: Autodesk Construction Cloud

- Understanding of 5D BIM and cost management workflows.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with 5D BIM implementation.

- Knowledge of international measurement standards (NRM, SMM, CESMM, POMI, etc.).

- Ability to perform cost planning, value engineering, and risk analysis.

- Solid analytical and communication skills.

- Experience working on commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of quantity take-offs and estimates.

- Timely submission of BOQs and cost reports.

- Reduction of quantity discrepancies and estimation errors.

- Effective coordination between BIM and commercial teams.

- Support in achieving project budget targets.
