About Pierian Services

Pierian Services is a Global Business Services company delivering Finance & Accounting Outsourcing, GCC Setup & Management, BPM, HR & Payroll, Tax & Compliance, Tech Enablement, and Risk Advisory to clients across North America, APAC, the Middle East, and the UK.

Founded in 2002, we operate with 2,000+ professionals across 11 global offices. India s BFSI sector is among the most active sources of GBS demand in the country with private banks, NBFCs, insurance groups, and asset managers investing in shared services consolidation, compliance outsourcing, and technology-enabled F&A; transformation. Simultaneously, India s complex and evolving tax landscape spanning GST, direct tax, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance is creating sustained demand for managed tax services across large corporates and multinationals.

This role sits at the intersection of both growth priorities.

The Opportunity

This is a shared principal solutioning role with end-to-end architecture ownership across two of Pierian s fastest-growing verticals in India. As Solutions Architect for BFSI and Tax, you will design, commercialise, and transition-architect Pierian s solutions for both BFSI and Tax vertical pursuits operating as a single shared resource across both pipelines rather than being siloed within either.

You will work with Pierian s BD and Pre-Sales teams to respond to complex client briefs from Indian and global financial services institutions, insurance groups, NBFCs, and large corporate tax functions designing FAO, BPM, GBS, and Tax & Compliance solutions that are commercially sound, operationally credible, and built to survive delivery. A defining feature of this role is the onboarding and integration blueprint function: you will own the design of Pierian s client integration methodology across both verticals, ensuring every new engagement has a documented, delivery-tested transition architecture before the ink dries on the contract.

You will work directly with Pierian s BFSI and Tax Vertical Heads, senior Delivery Leads, and BD teams holding architecture accountability across both verticals from first discovery through contract execution, and remaining as the integration design authority through the first 90 days of every new engagement.

What You ll Own

- Cross-Vertical Solution Design BFSI & Tax Own the end-to-end design of Pierian s solutions for BFSI and Tax vertical pursuits including scope, service model, operating model, regulatory architecture, staffing, technology, and transition approach. Apply domain-appropriate design rigour to each vertical: the compliance obligations of a scheduled bank s F&A; outsourcing are not the same as those of a corporate tax compliance mandate, and the solution must reflect that difference. Lead discovery and solutioning workshops with client stakeholders across both verticals without diluting the specificity of either.
- Onboarding Architecture & Integration Blueprints Design and own Pierian s onboarding and integration architecture for every current BFSI and Tax client engagement. This is the defining output of this role: a documented, delivery-tested blueprint that governs how Pierian integrates its people, processes, and technology into the client s operating environment covering data migration protocols, system integration touchpoints, knowledge transfer frameworks, regulatory compliance handoffs, and go-live governance. Build and maintain a reusable blueprint library across both verticals, reducing integration risk on every subsequent engagement by applying what each transition reveals about what works.
- Regulatory Architecture & Compliance Design Embed regulatory and compliance requirements into the solution architecture from the outset not as an afterthought appended during bid review. For BFSI pursuits, this means designing solutions that are structurally coherent with RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and FEMA obligations as relevant. For Tax pursuits, it means building compliance workflows for GST, TDS, advance tax, transfer pricing, and applicable direct tax obligations directly into the service model. Ensure every solution Pierian proposes can withstand regulatory scrutiny from the client s compliance function without requiring architectural rework post-sale.

- Commercial Modelling & Pricing Build commercially sound business cases for BFSI and Tax pursuits. Own pricing inputs, cost modelling, and deal structuring in collaboration with BD and Finance, with full awareness of the regulatory overhead costs unique to BFSI engagements and the compliance calendar dependencies that drive cost variability in Tax mandates. Ensure every solution is priced with clear-eyed understanding of delivery cost, transition risk, and long-term commercial health not just the number most likely to win the bid.
- Pre-Sales Collaboration & Bid Leadership Work with Pierian s BD leads and Pre-Sales Analysts to shape pursuit strategy and response architecture for BFSI and Tax RFPs, RFIs, and proactive proposals. Lead or co-lead oral presentations and solution defence sessions with client stakeholders. Ensure Pierian s responses are architecturally differentiated, commercially credible, and not generic reformulations of the service catalogue in a pursuit environment where BFSI and Tax clients frequently receive templated responses from competitors.
- Solution Library & Capability Development Build and maintain Pierian s BFSI and Tax solution libraries standard scope templates, onboarding playbooks, operating model blueprints, integration frameworks, and regulatory compliance checklists, maintained as living documents that reflect current regulatory reality, not the state of the regulatory environment at time of first authorship. Contribute to vertical proposition development by identifying capability gaps and working with Delivery leadership to close them ahead of the next pursuit cycle.
- Delivery Oversight & Transition Governance Maintain architecture ownership through the transition phase of every new BFSI and Tax engagement. Work with Delivery Leads to resolve scope interpretation issues, manage client expectation alignment during the integration period, and ensure the service as delivered matches the architecture as designed. Identify integration risk early particularly around regulatory reporting timelines, system cutover windows, and knowledge transfer completeness and propose corrective architecture before risk becomes incident.

Who We re Looking For The Dual-Domain Architect You do not treat BFSI and Tax as adjacent domains that you can approach with the same framework and different terminology. You understand that the solutioning logic for a private bank s reconciliation outsourcing is structurally different from the solutioning logic for a corporate s GST compliance mandate different risk profiles, different regulatory overlays, different transition sensitivities. You hold both domains with genuine depth, not surface familiarity.

And you do not let the breadth of the remit become an excuse for solutions that are generically designed and vertically re-labelled.

The Onboarding & Integration Specialist

You understand that the most fragile moment in any outsourcing engagement is not the proposal it is the integration. You have designed onboarding architectures for regulated, data-sensitive environments where the cost of a failed transition is measured not just in client dissatisfaction but in regulatory exposure. You build integration blueprints that are operational documents, not slideware: they specify the sequence, the ownership, the system touchpoints, the compliance checkpoints, and the go-live criteria.

And you stay accountable to them through delivery, not just through signing.

The Regulatory-Aware Designer

You do not treat compliance as a constraint that gets added to the solution after the architecture is designed. You treat it as a structural input. You know which RBI outsourcing guidelines constrain how a bank can configure its F&A; shared services.

You know what GSTN reconciliation requirements mean for the technology design of a tax compliance mandate.

You know where the regulatory audit trail lives in both verticals, and you build it in from the beginning. Clients in BFSI and Tax do not give their compliance functions scope to forgive an architecture that was built without them in mind.

The Commercial Partner

You understand that the commercial model for a BFSI outsourcing engagement and the commercial model for a Tax compliance mandate are structured differently different cost drivers, different volume variability, different compliance cycle risks that affect pricing. You build both with the same rigour. You know where the margin lives and where it disappears in each vertical, and you price with that awareness.

You do not leave commercial modelling to Finance after the architecture is done; you build them together because the architecture and the price are not separable.

What You Bring

- 8-14 years in solutions architecture, pre-sales solutioning, or delivery leadership within GBS, BPO, FAO, or managed services with demonstrated, domain-specific experience designing and owning complex solutions for BFSI clients (banks, NBFCs, insurance groups, asset managers) and/or for enterprise Tax and compliance mandates; candidates whose solutioning experience is primarily in generic IT services or product presales without GBS or services delivery exposure are unlikely to be the right fit
- Proven track record of designing and owning onboarding and integration architectures for regulated, data-sensitive outsourcing engagements with the ability to point to blueprints you built, transitions you governed, and integration failures you prevented through proactive architectural design
- Deep working knowledge of the Indian BFSI regulatory environment as it applies to outsourcing and shared services: RBI Master Directions on outsourcing, SEBI operational risk frameworks, IRDAI guidelines on third-party service providers, and FEMA compliance considerations relevant to cross-border service delivery sufficient to design solutions that will survive the client s compliance review, not just clear the commercial one
- Solid command of the Indian direct and indirect tax compliance landscape: GST (including GSTN reconciliation, e-invoicing, and input tax credit management), TDS and TCS obligations, advance tax, transfer pricing documentation requirements, and corporate income tax compliance sufficient to architect a managed tax services solution, not merely describe its components
- Demonstrated experience with commercial modelling for regulated outsourcing engagements pricing structures that account for compliance overhead costs, compliance calendar seasonality in tax mandates, and the margin implications of regulatory change clauses; the ability to build a deal structure that is commercially defensible for both parties and accounts for the specific cost profile of BFSI and Tax delivery
- Experience leading or co-leading solution presentations, oral defences, and solutioning workshops at CFO, CRO, Head of Compliance, and Head of Tax level in BFSI and corporate environments; the ability to hold a rigorous technical discussion on regulatory architecture and a fluent commercial conversation on deal structure in the same meeting
- Familiarity with technology platforms relevant to BFSI and Tax operations: core banking and NBFC platforms, insurance policy administration systems, ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, D365) in F&A; and tax contexts, GSTN APIs and e-invoicing infrastructure, RPA and workflow automation tools sufficient to make informed architecture decisions about system integration and data flow, not necessarily to implement them
- Strong written communication: the ability to produce solution documents, integration blueprints, executive summaries, and commercial proposals that are technically precise, commercially grounded, and credible under senior scrutiny from both a finance and a compliance audience
- Based in Bangalore; comfortable with client-facing travel within India and periodic international travel for global pursuit activity involving BFSI or Tax clients in APAC, the Middle East, or North America
- CA, MBA, CMA, LLB, or relevant post-graduate qualification preferred; professional certifications in tax (DISA, CISA), risk management, shared services, or transition management are an advantage
