Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled L2 Backup Engineer to manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and support enterprise backup and recovery environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with EMC Networker, Dhruva (Druva) and Rubrik backup solutions, strong knowledge of backup infrastructure, disaster recovery processes, and the ability to resolve complex backup-related incidents while ensuring adherence to operational SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

Backup Operations & Monitoring

- Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure successful completion across enterprise environments.
- Investigate and resolve backup failures, performance issues, and storage-related alerts.
- Perform backup, restore, and recovery activities as per business requirements.
- Ensure backup policies and schedules are implemented and maintained correctly.

Druva Administration

- Administer and support Druva Data Resiliency Cloud environments.
- Configure and manage backup policies for servers, endpoints, Microsoft 365, and cloud workloads.
- Perform data recovery and restoration activities using Backup tool.
- Monitor backup health, storage utilization, and compliance reports.

Rubrik Administration

- Manage and troubleshoot backup environments.
- Configure SLA domains, backup schedules, and retention policies.




- Execute file-level, database-level, and VM-level restores.
- Monitor cluster health, replication, archival, and backup performance.

Incident & Problem Management

- Handle L2 incidents and service requests related to backup infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring backup failures.
- Work closely with infrastructure, storage, cloud, and application teams for issue resolution.
- Escalate critical issues to L3/vendor support when required.

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience with EMC Networker, Druva and Rubrik backup platforms.
- Robust understanding of enterprise backup and recovery concepts.
- Knowledge of storage technologies, SAN/NAS environments, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.

Troubleshooting Skills

- Backup failure analysis and remediation.
- Restore validation and recovery testing.
- Capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Log analysis and root cause identification.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Backup Administration or Infrastructure Operations.
