We're looking for a backend engineer to design and build our core Node.js services and APIs from scratch owning system design end to end and shipping AI/ML-powered features, including LLM and agentic capabilities, in a small, quick-moving team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build core Node.js services and REST APIs from scratch, built to scale.
- Own system design end to end service boundaries, data flow, caching, queueing, failure modes, and scale.
- Ship AI/ML-powered features, including LLM and agentic capabilities.
- Use LLMs and agentic tooling across the SDLC design, code generation, testing, and debugging.
- Model data and optimize SQL/NoSQL queries; integrate with third-party platforms.
- Debug production issues, own reliability, and set engineering standards for the team.
Requirements :
- 4+ years building production backend systems in Node.js for B2C products at meaningful scale.
- Strong system design skills able to reason clearly about scalability, reliability, and trade-offs.
- Solid fundamentals in API design, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean code.
- Depth in SQL and/or NoSQL data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- AI-native mindset already using LLMs and agentic approaches to maximize engineering efficiency.
- Comfortable with the pace and breadth of a small team, picking up whatever moves the product forward.
