Takumi Motion Controls is Startup based out of Bangalore, India. Our focus in India is delivering EV Powertrain Solutions to Our Customers in Collaboration with our Japanese Peers.

Upholding the Vision of ‘Innovate in India with Japanese Technology’, We are developing Vehicle Powertrain Solutions (Motor controller, vehicle controller etc.,) for Electric Vehicles that will cater to selected segments in the Indian Market. With Localized design and In House Manufacturing of Solutions we strive to enable the Small Electric Vehicle Eco System.

Key Responsibilities

- Design & Development : Architect and implement modular, scalable firmware for motor controllers and vehicle controllers using Renesas, NXP, or equivalent MCUs.
- Control Algorithms : Implement and optimize real-time Field Oriented Control (FOC), SVPWM generation, and sensor fusion logic (Hall, Encoder, Shunt-based sensing).
- Communication Stacks : Develop and maintain robust communication interfaces including CAN/CAN-FD (J1939/UDS), SPI, I2C, and UART.
- Debugging & Validation : Use JTAG/SWD debuggers, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes to perform deep-system debugging. Lead unit testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation.
- Safety & Compliance : Ensure firmware adheres to industry standards (MISRA C) and assist in meeting functional safety requirements (ISO 26262/AIS).
- Lifecycle Management : Own the version control (Git), build systems, and documentation. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA)



for firmware-related field or production issues.

Education and Expertise Required Skills & Qualifications

§ Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.

- Relevant experience of 8-10 years
- Embedded C: Mastery of C programming, bitwise operations, memory management, and pointers in resource-constrained environments.
- Microcontrollers: Proven expertise with Renesas (RA/RH850/RL78), NXP (S32K), or similar architectures.
- Peripherals: Deep understanding of ADC-PWM synchronization, DMA, Timers, and Interrupt service routines for motor control.
- Toolchains: Hands-on experience with IDEs (e2-studio, S32 Design Studio, IAR/Keil) and version control (Git).
- RTOS & Scheduling: Practical experience with Free RTOS or similar kernels, as well as bare-metal state-machine architectures.

§ Motor Control: Practical experience with DC, PMSM, and SRM motors; deep understanding of FOC (Field Oriented Control) and Vector Control algorithms.

Key Competencies

§ Ownership: A self-starter capable of taking a feature from requirements through to reliable production-ready code.

§ Collaboration: Ability to work closely with hardware engineers to define pinouts and mechanical engineers to understand system dynamics.

§ Analytical Thinking: A methodical approach to debugging race conditions, memory leaks, and timing jitters.
