Essential Eligibility

- Regular, full-time MPT degree from a recognized University in the relevant specialization.
- For the Musculoskeletal Sciences position: MPT in Musculoskeletal Sciences / Orthopaedic

Physiotherapy or equivalent recognized specialization.
- For the Neurosciences position: MPT in Neurosciences / Neurological Physiotherapy or equivalent recognized specialization.
- Minimum five years of post-MPT teaching experience as Assistant Professor in a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the relevant State Physiotherapy Council, State Allied and Healthcare Professions

Council, or other legally applicable registering authorities, subject to the prevailing regulatory mechanism.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

- PhD in Physiotherapy.
- Experience in teaching BPT and MPT programmes, including competency-based education.
- Eligibility and experience in guiding MPT dissertations in the relevant specialty.
- Peer-reviewed research publications, conference presentations, funded research or consultancy experience.
- Experience in curriculum development, course coordination, examination work and academic documentation.
- Experience in managing a Physiotherapy OPD, specialty clinic, clinical laboratory or skill laboratory.
- Familiarity with NAAC, NIRF, IQAC and other accreditation or quality-assurance processes.
- Ability to use digital learning platforms, simulation, OSCE/OSPE and outcome-based assessment methods.

Academic and Teaching Responsibilities

- Teach BPT and MPT courses as allocated by the Head of Department, including theory, practical,

clinical and competency-based components.
- Deliver learner-centred teaching through lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, seminars, case discussions,

journal clubs, bedside teaching and clinical rounds.
- Serve as course coordinator wherever assigned, including preparation of course files, lesson plans,

teaching schedules, learning outcomes, assessment plans and academic records.
- Develop and update teaching-learning material, clinical protocols, practical manuals, case-based exercises and competency checklists.
- Coordinate with internal and external faculty for interdisciplinary subjects and integrated teaching.




- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, professionalism and attainment of prescribed competencies.
- Mentor students for academic, clinical, research, professional and career development.
- Guide MPT dissertation work, subject to fulfilment of the applicable eligibility requirements and allotment by the University.

Assessment and Examination Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct formative and summative assessments in accordance with University and NCAHP requirements.
- Set question papers, prepare marking schemes, evaluate answer scripts and maintain assessment records.
- Conduct or participate in practical, clinical and viva voce examinations, including OSCE/OSPE and competency-based assessment.
- Perform moderation, scrutiny and result-related duties when assigned.
- Assess clinical competencies, logbooks, case presentations, seminars, journal clubs, assignments,

projects and dissertations.
- Undertake internal and external examination duties as assigned by the University or other competent authority.

Physiotherapy OPD and Clinical Responsibilities

- Provide and supervise evidence-based physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning,

intervention, reassessment and discharge planning in the University Physiotherapy OPD.
- Manage specialty OPD services in the relevant discipline and provide cross-specialty support when required.
- Ensure complete patient documentation, consent, clinical records, outcome measures, referral notes and follow-up records.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, clinical pathways, safety protocols, infection-

control measures and quality standards.
- Supervise students during OPD-based clinical education and ensure protected, ethical and professional patient care.
- Conduct clinical audits, patient feedback review and service-improvement activities.




- Support OPD scheduling, equipment planning, procurement specifications, inventory, maintenance and utilization monitoring.
- Coordinate community-based rehabilitation, screening camps, health-promotion activities and outreach services.

Hospital Tie-ups and Clinical Training

- Accompany and supervise students during clinical postings at affiliated or tied-up hospitals, rehabilitation centres and community settings, as assigned.
- Coordinate with hospital authorities and clinical supervisors regarding posting schedules, learning objectives, student attendance, discipline and patient exposure.
- Ensure that students receive adequate supervised clinical experience and complete prescribed competencies and logbook requirements.
- Participate in identifying and developing suitable hospitals and clinical sites for affiliations, tie-ups, MoUs and structured clinical training.
- Undertaking visits, inspections, documentation and coordination required for continuation and quality monitoring of clinical affiliations.
- Evaluate student performance during clinical postings and provide documented feedback and remedial support.

Research, Professional and Institutional Responsibilities

- Undertake research and publish in quality peer-reviewed journals; contribute to funded projects,

consultancy, patents or innovation where applicable.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes, continuing professional education and professional bodies.
- Contribute to NAAC, NIRF, IQAC, ranking, accreditation, statutory and regulatory documentation.
- Support admissions, counselling, student orientation, mentoring, alumni activities and placement-related initiatives.
- Participate in departmental and University committees, events, outreach, extension activities and public-

engagement programmes.
- Assist in timetable preparation, workload allocation, examination coordination, procurement, stock verification, laboratory development and record maintenance.
- Perform any other academic, clinical, administrative or institutional duty assigned by the Head of

Department, Dean or University authorities.
