Assistant Doctor (BAMS/BHMS) Proctology, Urology & General Surgery

About the Role

Healing Hands Clinic is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate BAMS/BHMS graduates to join our clinical team as Assistant Doctors. This is a patient-facing role where you will be responsible for guiding patients throughout their treatment journeyfrom history taking and counselling to treatment coordination and post-consultation support.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a patient-centric approach, confidence in interacting with patients, and a willingness to continuously learn. Prior knowledge of health insurance and cashless processes will be an added advantage.

Eligibility

- BAMS or BHMS graduates only
- Freshers as well as experienced candidates are welcome to apply
- Registration with the respective medical council is preferred
- Basic knowledge of medical documentation and patient counselling

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & History Taking

- Obtain a detailed and accurate medical history before the consultant's examination.
- Record presenting complaints, duration, previous treatments, medications, associated illnesses, allergies, surgical history, family history, and lifestyle factors.
- Take focused histories for Proctology, Urology, and General Surgery patients.
- Ensure all patient information is documented accurately in the Hospital Management System (HMS).

Consultation Coordination

- Prepare patients before the consultant examination.
- Brief the consultant with relevant clinical history.
- Assist consultants during patient consultations whenever required.
- Ensure a smooth patient flow and minimize waiting time.

Patient Counselling

- Explain the diagnosis and treatment plan as advised by the consultant.
- Counsel patients regarding:
- Medical management
- Surgical treatment options
- Expected recovery and post-treatment care
- Advantages, risks, and precautions
- Address patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Surgical Counselling For patients advised surgery:





- Explain the procedure in simple and understandable language.
- Educate patients regarding:
- Pre-operative preparation
- Hospital admission process
- Surgery day protocol
- Post-operative recovery
- Follow-up schedule
- Coordinate investigations and admission formalities.

Financial & Insurance Counselling

- Explain treatment costs and available packages.
- Guide patients regarding:
- Cash packages
- Insurance packages
- Cashless hospitalization process
- TPA documentation requirements
- Government and corporate insurance schemes (where applicable)
- Coordinate with the insurance and billing teams for smooth patient processing.

Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, insurance team, pharmacy, and front office.
- Follow up with patients regarding pending investigations, admissions, surgeries, and follow-up visits.

Patient Experience

- Build trust and rapport with patients and their families.
- Ensure every patient receives compassionate, ethical, and high-quality care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to clinical protocols.
