This role is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting activities related to insurance operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable, policyholder payouts, commission payments, reconciliations, treasury support and regulatory reporting. The role ensures the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of financial transactions while maintaining strong financial controls, reconciliation standards and regulatory adherence.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with Operations, Treasury, Investment and Regulatory Reporting teams to support efficient financial management and reporting.

Accounting Operations Management

- Manage and oversee daily accounting transactions related to insurance operations.
- Ensure all accounting entries are accurately recorded and posted in SUN GL within prescribed timelines.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Commission Processing & Payment Management
- Process monthly commission payments within agreed turnaround timelines (TATs).
- Perform robust pre-payment validations and control checks to ensure payment accuracy.




- Monitor and resolve commission-related discrepancies in a timely manner.

Suspense Account Reconciliation
- Perform regular reconciliation of suspense accounts in coordination with Operations teams.
- Identify, investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items and exceptions.
- Ensure open items are cleared within defined timelines and reconciliation standards.

Knowledge of insurance accounting, financial controls and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in treasury management, reconciliations and payment processing.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems like SUN GL and Microsoft Excel.
- Robust analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management and teamwork.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and drive process improvements.
