Role Description The Area Operations Manager role is a full time, in office position based in Chennai. This role is responsible for overseeing branch and area-level operations, ensuring efficient processes, compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and high-quality customer service.

Manager will monitor performance metrics, optimize workflows, and collaborate with branch managers and cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and business growth. The role includes managing risk and audit readiness,



guiding teams on documentation and process adherence, and resolving escalated operational issues.

Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support training and development of operations staff, and ensure alignment with HFS’s values of honesty and integrity.

Qualifications

- Strong operations management skills, including branch oversight, process optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in NBFC or banking operations, with knowledge of lending processes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and service quality.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to handle operational challenges and risk mitigation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in using MS Office and core operational systems; comfort with digital tools and data-driven reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certification is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in area or regional operations management within financial services, especially serving micro and small enterprises, is preferred.
