At Insight Technologies, we design and manufacture high-precision CNC machines and custom hydraulic fixtures. We are looking for a hands-on Application Engineer to lead on-site machine commissioning, hydraulic fixture integration, CNC programming, and customer service support.

This role requires a combination of robust mechanical, hydraulic, and programming expertise, along with a willingness to travel to customer sites for prove-outs, installations, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Onsite Commissioning Lead on-site installation, setup, alignment, and commissioning of CNC machines and hydraulic fixtures.
2. Perform component prove-outs, cycle time optimizations, and final customer sign-offs at customer plant sites.
3. Travel regularly to customer locations across India for installation, routine maintenance, and emergency service calls.
4. CNC Programming & Tooling Setup Write, test, and optimize G-code/M-code programs for multi-axis CNC turning, milling, and VMC/HMC applications.
5. Work comfortably across controllers including Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Fanuc.
6. Select appropriate cutting tools, insert grades, and cutting parameters based on component drawings and material specs.
7. Hydraulics & Fixture Integration Read and interpret hydraulic circuit diagrams, piping layouts, and schematic drawings.
8. Troubleshoot hydraulic issues (e.g., pressure drops, clamping/unclamping sequences, valve operations, leakages) on custom fixtures during setup.

Validate fixture clamping rigidity and ensure seamless interface with the CNC machine control.
10. Technical Documentation & Customer Training Prepare standard job reports, including Commissioning Reports, Service Logs, Inspection Control Plans, and SOPs.
11. Document technical issues, resolution steps, and component modification recommendations for the internal engineering team.
12. Provide operational and basic programming training to customer shop-floor operators.

Required Skills & Qualifications : Education: Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.

Experience : 2 to 5 years in CNC machine application, prove-out, or field service engineering (candidates with fixture manufacturing backgrounds preferred).

CNC Controllers : Hands-on experience with Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Fanuc controllers.

Hydraulics Knowledge : Practical ability to read hydraulic circuits, understand power packs, valves, cylinders, and clamping sequences.

Tooling : Expertise in cutting tool selection, tool presetting, speed/feed calculations, and GD&T; drawing interpretation.

Travel Flexibility : Willingness to travel frequently for short and extended customer site visits.

- First-Time Right Prove-out: Successfully completing on-site component prove-outs with minimal rework.
- Commissioning Speed: Completing machine and fixture installations within scheduled timelines.
- Documentation Quality: Prompt and accurate delivery of installation sign-offs and service reports.
