Key Responsibilities

- Preoperative Care:
- Evaluate patient history, current health, and surgical plan to create a tailored anesthesia plan.
- Discuss risks and advantages with patients/guardians, obtaining consent.

- Intraoperative Care (During Surgery)
- Administer specific types and dosages of anesthesia.
- Continuously monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygenation).
- Adjust anesthesia levels and manage emergencies to ensure patient comfort and safety.

- Postoperative Care
- Oversee recovery from anesthesia in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Manage pain, nausea, and other complications using analgesics, nerve blocks, etc..
- Monitor hemodynamic stability, airway, and consciousness.
- Critical Care & Pain Management:
- Stabilize critically ill patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU).
- Manage acute,



chronic, and cancer pain.
- Leadership & Documentation:
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Supervise junior doctors and participate in quality improvement and governance.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

- Expertise in various anesthetic agents, techniques, and monitoring equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication to build rapport and explain complex information.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.
- Up-to-date knowledge of anesthesia practices and technologies.
