Senior AI/ML Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will build and improve the models we run ourselves. You will fine-tune, evaluate, and optimize open-source and custom models, and work closely with our applied and platform engineers to turn them into reliable production systems.

Our stack: Python and Node.js (TypeScript) services across Azure and Google Cloud, a React front end, and a mix of hosted AI APIs (Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI) and self-hosted open-source models on our own GPUs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Fine-tune and evaluate open-source ML / deep-learning and large language models for our specific use cases in construction-related software development.

– Build and maintain data pipelines, training loops, and evaluation harnesses.

– Run experiments, track results, and iterate on model architecture, data, and hyperparameters.

– Optimize models for accuracy, latency, and cost, and prepare them to be served on our

GPUs.

– Partner with our applied and platform engineers to deploy and serve models reliably at scale.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have

– Experience: Mid-level or above – typically 3+ years in ML/AI, including hands-on model training, fine-tuning, or evaluation.

– Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning fundamentals.

– Hands-on experience with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

– Proven experience fine-tuning and evaluating open-source models (LLMs or transformers)

for real use cases.





– Experience preparing models for production, serving and optimizing them on GPUs (e.g.

quantization, batching).

– Solid understanding of data preparation, experiment design, and evaluation metrics.

– Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product and design.

– Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements.

– A bias toward writing clean, tested, maintainable code (or reproducible analysis).

Nice to have

– Experience with distributed training or advanced optimization (distillation, LoRA / PEFT).

– Familiarity with model-serving frameworks (vLLM, Triton) and GPU infrastructure on Azure or Google Cloud.

– Publications, competition results, or open-source contributions in ML.

Educational qualifications

– Computer Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from a reputable university or an equivalent experience.
