About Internal Audit

Internal Audit at Fidelity International provides independent, objective assurance and insight to the Board and Executive Committee on the effectiveness of the firms governance, risk management, and control environment. The function will play a critical role in helping the organisation achieve its strategic objectives safely, evaluating how well risks are managed, how controls operate in practice, and where improvements can strengthen resilience and performance.

About The Role

This role will be responsible for designing, building and deploying AI & Machine Learning solutions that transform the Internal Audit Lifecycle, enabling risk sensing, automated assurance, continuous control monitoring, and data-driven insights across the organisation. It will also explore emerging trends in AI, develop proof-of-concepts and engage with internal and external ecosystem to progress the proof of concepts into production.

This role would also involve applying engineering principles from classical software development lifecycle to AI & Machine Learning

Key responsibilities

- Design, build and deploy AI/ML capabilities across the audit lifecycle, enabling risk sensing, automated testing, insight generation and continuous monitoring.
- Develop scalable data and AI pipelines, ingesting and transforming structured and unstructured data to support audit analytics and evidence.
- Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise and audit platforms using APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures.
- Embed AI across audit phases (planning, fieldwork, reporting), including NLP-driven document review and insight generation.
- Prototype and scale innovative use cases, including generative AI and emerging technologies, progressing POCs to production.
- Ensure robust AI governance, including model risk management,



explainability, auditability, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to understand use and development of AI and emerging technologies, evaluating opportunities for Internal Audit to leverage, extend or integrate with these solutions to enhance audit coverage and effectiveness.
- Build audit capability and adoption, developing tools, standards, and playbooks to enable scalable and sustainable use of AI within Internal Audit.
- Working across the enterprise to utilise standard technology services and frameworks that will facilitate Internal Audit's transformation agenda.

Experience and Qualifications Required

- Strong programming skills (Python; experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience working with data platforms (SQL, cloud environments such as AWS/Azure/GCP, data warehousing) and associated data architectures.
- Experience developing and deploying ML/AI solutions in a business environment.
- Proven ability to move from prototype to production-scale solutions.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets (structured and unstructured).
- Experience in Internal Audit, Risk, or Compliance environments, with an understanding of control frameworks and testing methodologies.
- Experience with NLP, Generative AI (LLMs), or advanced analytics techniques, including prompt engineering or retrieval-based architectures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills (technical to non-technical audiences).
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivery and impact.

Optional skillset:
- Exposure to ML Ops Platforms (MLflow, SageMaker).
- Understanding of model governance, explainability and AI risk frameworks.
