Role: Aerospace System Safety Assessment (SSA) & Safety Reliability Engineer (SRE) Location: [Pune / Bangalore ] Experience: 8–12 Years About the Role We are looking for an experienced System Safety Assesment & Safety Reliability Engineer to lead system safety, reliability, and certification activities for advanced avionics and aerospace systems. This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in safety-critical system development, reliability engineering, and regulatory compliance across the complete product lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our avionics hardware and software meet the highest standards of functional safety, reliability, and certification in accordance with global aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities System Safety Engineering & SSA
Develop and author Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSA) and final System Safety Assessments (SSA) to prove regulatory compliance.
Lead and perform Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Common Cause Analysis (CCA) in accordance with ARP4761.
Develop, maintain, and manage system safety requirements and safety cases aligned with ARP4754A.
Allocate safety requirements across hardware and software while ensuring end-to-end traceability.
Utilize system safety analysis tools such as ANSYS Medini Analyze or equivalent platforms for safety and reliability modeling. Safety & Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Perform comprehensive SRE tasks including reliability predictions, modeling, and quantitative analyses (MTBF, failure rates, and system availability).
Identify potential failure mechanisms and recommend design improvements to enhance product reliability.
Support Design-for-Reliability (DfR) initiatives throughout product development.
Ensure strict compliance with aerospace reliability standards and regulatory expectations.
Certification & Compliance
Support certification activities with aviation authorities such as the FAA and EASA.
Prepare Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), compliance matrices, certification evidence, and technical documentation.
Ensure strict compliance with core aerospace standards including ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, and DO-254.
Participate in certification reviews, technical audits, and design assurance activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with system engineering, software, hardware, verification, and certification teams to integrate safety and reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure SSA and certification milestones are successfully achieved.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
8–12 years of experience as an SRE or similar role focused on avionics, aerospace, or other safety-critical systems.
Hands-on experience performing FHA, FMEA, FTA, and CCA using ARP4754A and ARP4761 methodologies.
Proven track record of authoring and delivering successful SSAs and PSSAs.
Robust understanding of core aerospace safety standards (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).
Proficiency with safety analysis tools such as ANSYS Medini Analyze, Isograph, ReliaSoft, FaultTree+, or SCADE Safety.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and technical communication skills.

Experience supporting FAA and/or EASA certification programs.
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and systems engineering methodologies.
Deep knowledge of avionics architectures and safety-critical embedded systems.
Experience working directly in DO-178C/DO-254 development environments.
