Accounting Supervisor - US Accounting Location: Chennai (Work from Office) Shift: US Shift / Night Shift Experience: 5-8 Years About the Role We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support our US Accounting and Finance teams by coordinating financial reporting activities with our India operations teams. This role serves as the primary liaison between US stakeholders and internal departments, ensuring timely collection, validation, and reporting of financial and operational data. The ideal candidate will possess a robust accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with US-based leadership.
Key Responsibilities - Act as the primary point of contact between US Accounting teams and India operations.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Operations, Collections, Recovery, Customer Service, and other departments to obtain required financial information.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc financial reports for US management.
- Review, validate, and reconcile accounting and operational data.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Monitor report accuracy and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
- Work closely with US stakeholders to resolve reporting and accounting-related queries.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and Excel-based financial models.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and reporting standards.
- Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects related to finance and accounting operations.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- MBA (Finance), M.Com, CMA, CPA coursework, or equivalent is a plus.
- 5-8 years of experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance Operations, Shared Services, or BPO Finance.
- Experience supporting US-based finance or accounting teams is highly preferred.
Required Skills - Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Power Query preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work directly with US clients and leadership.
- Experience preparing management reports and executive summaries.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience - US Accounting or Finance Operations.
- Shared Services or Global Capability Center (GCC) environment.
- Automotive Finance, Banking, Financial Services, or BPO.
- ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
- Power BI or Tableau experience is an added advantage.
