Role Description The Accountant will work full time on-site at our Kerala, India location, supporting the financial health and compliance of Uptown Urban Farms Pvt Ltd. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate books of accounts, recording journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank and cash accounts. The role involves preparing invoices, monitoring payment collections, assisting with budgeting and expense tracking, and generating periodic financial reports for management.

The Accountant will help ensure tax compliance, support audits, maintain documentation of financial transactions, and collaborate with operations and management teams to provide financial insights.



The role requires attention to detail, integrity in handling financial data, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a growing agribusiness.

Qualifications Strong skills in bookkeeping and financial accounting, including ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliation.

Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, invoicing, billing, and payment follow-up.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar) and solid working knowledge of spreadsheets and MS Excel.

Understanding of basic tax regulations, compliance requirements, and support for audits and statutory filings.

Ability to prepare clear financial reports, summaries, and analyses for management decision-making.

Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy in handling financial data.

Good communication and collaboration skills to work with operations, procurement, and management teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.

Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role;

experience in agribusiness or FMCG is a plus.

Willingness to work in office in Kerala and support the needs of a fast-growing, sustainability-focused organization.
