Job Description – Duty Doctor (IVF Hospital)

Job Title: Duty Doctor / Medical Officer – IVF
Employment Type: Full time

Qualification

- MBBS (Mandatory)
- Valid State Medical Council Registration
- Experience in IVF, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or Fertility Centre preferred (Freshers may also apply with appropriate training)

Experience

- 0–3 years of clinical experience
- Prior experience in IVF/Fertility or Obstetrics & Gynaecology is an added advantage

Roles & Responsibilities

- Assess and examine patients attending the IVF centre and provide appropriate medical care under consultant supervision.
- Monitor patients undergoing ovarian stimulation, IUI, IVF, embryo transfer, and other fertility treatments.
- Assist IVF consultants during procedures such as follicular scans, oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, and other clinical interventions.
- Review laboratory investigations, ultrasound reports, and vital parameters, and promptly report abnormal findings to the consultant.
- Manage medical emergencies,



post-procedure complications, and stabilize patients before escalation when required.
- Counsel patients regarding medications, treatment schedules, post-procedure care, and follow-up instructions.
- Prescribe medications and order investigations as per approved clinical protocols and consultant guidance.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential electronic and physical medical records for every patient.
- Coordinate effectively with embryologists, nursing staff, counsellors, laboratory personnel, and front-office teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure compliance with ART guidelines, hospital policies, infection control practices, patient safety standards, and medical ethics.
