Job Summary

Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (SMMCHRI) invites applications from qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Senior Resident – Anatomy. The selected candidate will support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, academic activities, research, and departmental responsibilities while ensuring compliance with National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach undergraduate (MBBS) students through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and dissection hall sessions.
- Assist in postgraduate teaching, seminars, journal clubs, and academic discussions.
- Demonstrate Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Neuroanatomy, Osteology, and Radiological Anatomy.
- Guide students during practical sessions and laboratory exercises.
- Participate in curriculum implementation, assessments, and university examinations.
- Assist in research activities, publications, and departmental academic projects.
- Maintain departmental records, specimen collections, museum materials, and laboratory equipment.
- Participate in CMEs, workshops, faculty development programs,



and academic conferences.
- Ensure adherence to NMC guidelines and institutional policies.
- Perform additional academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Department.

Eligibility

- MD/MS/DNB in Anatomy or an equivalent postgraduate medical qualification recognized by NMC.
- Must be registered with the appropriate State Medical Council or NMC.
- Candidates with prior teaching or research experience will be preferred.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

- Strong knowledge of Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, Neuroanatomy, Genetics, and Applied Anatomy.
- Familiarity with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME).
- Research aptitude and academic interest.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teaching environment.
- Good organizational and presentation skills.
