- Conduct comprehensive pre-anaesthetic assessments and evaluate patients' fitness for anaesthesia.
- Review patients' medical history, laboratory reports, and diagnostic investigations.
- Develop individualized anaesthesia plans based on the patient's condition and surgical requirements.
- Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients' vital signs throughout surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage airway and ventilation during anaesthesia.
- Recognize and manage anaesthesia-related complications and medical emergencies.
- Provide post-operative pain management and monitor patient recovery from anaesthesia.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative patient counselling regarding anaesthesia.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency services, trauma care, and resuscitation (CPR/ACLS).
- Manage patients requiring critical care and intensive care support when assigned.
- Ensure secure use, maintenance, and checking of anaesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation and anaesthesia records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols.
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
- Supervise junior doctors, residents, and anaesthesia technicians when applicable.
- Stay updated with advances in anaesthesia practices through continuous medical education.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of the Department or Hospital Management.
