You’ll partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to prevent incidents and continuously improve TRIR/LTIR, near?miss reporting, audit scores, and compliance status.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Governance & Culture

- Own the site EHS strategy, policy, and objectives; align with corporate frameworks and legal requirements.
- Establish an operating cadence: daily safety huddles, Tier boards for SQDCP, monthly EHS reviews, and leadership Gemba walks.
- Drive a proactive reporting culture (near?misses, hazards) and recognition for safe behaviours.

Risk Assessment & Controls

- Lead and maintain HIRA/Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all stations: winding, forming, laser welding, impregnation/curing, rotor assembly, press fits, balancing, leak testing, and EOL HV test cells.
- Ensure robust machine guarding, interlocks, light curtains, emergency stops, and validated safety PLC logic where applicable.
- Implement LOTO standards for electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and thermal energy; verify through routine field audits.

- Manage magnet safety (pinch points, strong magnetic fields), rotating equipment guarding, and hot work permitting.

High Voltage (HV) & Electrical Safety

- Define and enforce procedures for hipot, insulation resistance, partial discharge, and run?in test areas; control access via zoning and authorization.
- Maintain arc?flash and shock risk assessments, selection of PPE, and safe approach boundaries; ensure test equipment calibration and interlock integrity.

Ergonomics & Material Handling

- Conduct ergonomic risk assessments for repetitive tasks (winding, assembly, inspection); deploy lift assists, turntables, and workstation design improvements.
- Oversee material handling for heavy parts (stators/rotors), magnet handling fixtures, and pallet/jig safety.

Contractor & Project Safety

- Run contractor safety management: pre?qualification, site induction, PTW, supervision, and daily toolbox talks.
- Oversee CapEx installs/commissioning (robots, vision systems, ovens, laser cells) with construction safety plans and FAT/SAT EHS criteria.

Compliance, Audits & Documentation

- Ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable laws/regulations; maintain licenses/permits (e.g., hazardous chemicals, waste, fire).
- Lead internal/external EHS audits, customer audits, and statutory inspections; close findings with sustainable actions.
- Own EHS document control: policies, SOPs, SOP for LOTO, chemical registers, SDS, training records, incident logs, and emergency drills.

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

- Lead investigations using 5?Why, Fishbone, TapRooT (if applicable); implement corrective/preventive actions and verify effectiveness.
- Track and reduce TRIR, LTIR, first aid cases, near?miss to hazard closure time, and environmental excursions.
- Facilitate Kaizen on safety improvements; integrate EHS requirements in DFM/DFA, PFMEA, and change management (MOC).

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science Engineering.
- 5+ years of Hands?on with machine safety, HV/electrical safety, chemical/resin safety, and automated line environments.
- Strong command of risk assessments (HIRA/JSA), LOTO, permit?to?work, incident investigation, contractor safety, and emergency response.
- Proven track record driving improvements in TRIR/LTIR, audit scores, and compliance closure.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision making under ambiguity
