A Drawing Fitter is responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and assembling, fitting, and aligning metal components according to specifications. The role requires precision, technical knowledge, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret engineering, fabrication, and assembly drawings.

Mark, measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components as per drawings.

Ensure correct alignment, dimensions, and tolerances during assembly.

Use fitting tools such as grinders, drills, measuring instruments, and hand tools.

Coordinate with welders and supervisors to complete fabrication work.

Inspect finished assemblies for quality and accuracy.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Report material shortages, defects, or drawing discrepancies to the supervisor.

Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.

Required Skills:

Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.

Knowledge of measuring instruments (vernier caliper, measuring tape, spirit level, etc.).

Familiarity with fabrication processes and welding preparation.





Valuable problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

ITI (Fitter/Welder/Fabricator) or equivalent technical qualification.

2–5 years of experience in industrial fabrication, structural fabrication, or heavy engineering (experience may vary depending on the role).

Preferred Experience:

Experience in structural steel fabrication, pressure vessels, piping, or heavy equipment fabrication.

Knowledge of quality standards and workplace safety practices.

Working Conditions:

Work in fabrication workshops or industrial plants.

May require overtime to meet project deadlines.

Must wear appropriate PPE (helmet, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, etc.).
