Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor of Commerce will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in commerce, conducting academic research, mentoring students, and contributing to the overall development of the department and institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in commerce, a passion for teaching, and an active research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Academics:

Teach core and elective courses in commerce, such as Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Taxation, and Management.

Develop and update course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.

Employ creative and interactive teaching methods to engage students.

Supervise student projects, internships, and dissertations.

Research & Publications:

Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas of commerce.

Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at academic conferences.

Apply for research grants and participate in funded projects (if applicable).

Administrative & Departmental Duties:

Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.

Serve on academic committees and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and student activities.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Mentoring & Student Support:

Provide academic counseling and career guidance to students.

Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master’s degree in Commerce or a related field (e.g., M.Com, MBA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 55% marks.

NET/SLET/SET qualification as per UGC norms (if applicable in your region).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to excellence in teaching and academic service.

Preferred:

Ph.D. in Commerce or related discipline (as per UGC/AICTE norms).





Published research papers in reputed academic journals.

Prior teaching experience at the college/university level.

Desirable Skills:

Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Moodle, Google Classroom, Zoom).

Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Experience in curriculum design and academic mentoring.

Active involvement in professional or academic associations.
