Job Description

1. Academic Instruction & Pedagogy

- Curriculum Development: Design and deliver lectures on topics such as molecular biology, enzymology, metabolic pathways, and clinical chemistry.

- Student Assessment: Create and grade examinations, assignments, and practical lab assessments.

- Mentorship: Advise undergraduate and postgraduate students on academic progress and career paths in healthcare or research.

2. Research & Scholarly Activity

- Independent Research: Establish an active research program in a specialized area (e.g., protein folding, genomics, or medicinal biochemistry).

- Grant Writing: Secure external funding from governmental or private health and science agencies.

- Publication: Conduct experiments and publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

- Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams, often bridging the gap between basic science and clinical application.

3. Laboratory Management

- Supervision:



Oversee laboratory technicians and student researchers (PhD or Masters candidates).

- Safety Compliance: Ensure all lab activities adhere to biohazard safety protocols and institutional ethics guidelines.

- Equipment Oversight: Manage the procurement and maintenance of high-end analytical tools like HPLC, mass spectrometers, and thermal cyclers.
