Job Purpose

The Quality Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all knitwear products meet customer specifications, buyer requirements, and company quality standards. The role focuses on defect prevention, process improvement, customer satisfaction, and continuous quality enhancement throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesQuality Management

- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, buyer quality manuals, and company quality policies.
- Establish quality standards and inspection procedures across all production stages.

Incoming Material Quality

- Ensure inspection and approval of fabrics, trims, accessories, and packaging materials.
- Verify fabric quality, shade, GSM, shrinkage, spirality, pilling, and color fastness before production.

Production Quality Control

- Monitor quality at cutting, sewing, printing, embroidery, washing, finishing, and packing stages.
- Conduct in-line, end-line, and final inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Review production quality reports and implement corrective actions.

Defect Prevention & Continuous Improvement

- Analyze quality defects using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, Pareto Analysis, and Fishbone Diagram.
- Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and rejection rates.

Customer & Buyer Quality

- Coordinate buyer inspections and ensure compliance with buyer quality requirements.




- Investigate customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain a high shipment acceptance rate with minimal claims and returns.

Audits & Compliance

- Conduct internal quality audits and process audits.
- Ensure readiness for buyer audits, certification audits, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain all quality records, reports, and documentation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Merchandising, Production, Industrial Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, and Stores to resolve quality-related issues.
- Participate in pre-production meetings and quality review meetings.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree
- Preffered Diploma in Textile Technology, Apparel Technology, Fashion Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.

Experience

- 10–15 years of experience in quality assurance within the knitwear garment manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial quality role.
- Experience handling export buyers and international quality standards is preferred.

Required Knowledge & Skills

- Strong knowledge of knit fabric properties and garment construction.
- Expertise in AQL inspection standards and garment measurement.
- Knowledge of printing, embroidery, washing, and finishing processes.
- Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Robust analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and quality reporting.
