About the Project

We’re developing a 2D cybernetic samurai roguelite with fast-paced combat, a stylized futuristic world, and a strong visual identity blending traditional samurai influences with cybernetic and sci-fi elements.

We’re looking for a 2D Artist who can also create 2D VFX to help establish the visual style of the game and bring its combat to life.

What You’ll Work On

- Create 2D character, enemy, weapon, prop, and environment assets
- Develop concept art and help define the game's cyber-samurai visual language
- Create 2D animations for characters, enemies, attacks, and environmental elements
- Design impactful combat VFX such as sword slashes, sparks, energy trails, projectiles, impacts, explosions, and ability effects
- Create VFX that clearly communicate attacks, damage, abilities, and gameplay feedback
- Prepare and optimize sprites, sprite sheets, animations, and VFX assets for implementation in Unity
- Work closely with the gameplay developer to ensure art and effects feel responsive during combat
- Iterate quickly based on gameplay testing and creative feedback

What We’re Looking For

- Strong fundamentals in 2D digital art
- Good understanding of animation, motion, timing, and silhouettes




- Ability to create stylized 2D game VFX
- Comfortable working across different assets rather than specializing in only one area
- Understanding of how art and VFX contribute to game feel and combat readability
- Ability to work independently and iterate quickly in a prototype-stage environment
- Familiarity with Unity's 2D workflow is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio Paint, After Effects, Spine, or similar software is a plus

Who Should Apply

Students, recent graduates, and self-taught artists are welcome. Portfolio quality matters more than professional experience.

Your portfolio should ideally demonstrate 2D game art, animation, and/or VFX work. Personal projects and game-jam work are absolutely welcome.

This is an opportunity to work on a game from an early stage and have a meaningful influence on its art direction, characters, world, combat effects, and overall visual identity.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
