Job Title: EHS Officer

Qualification: BSc/ Environment
Experience: 2 to 4 Years

Key Responsibilities for EHS Officer:

1. ETP Operations & Environmental Compliance

- Daily Plant Management: Oversee the smooth operations of the chemical ETP, ensuring secondary/tertiary treatments run efficiently.
- Water Quality Monitoring: Regularly check and maintain optimal parameters of effluent such as pH, COD, BOD, TDS, and TSS before discharge or recycling.
- Chemical Dosing & Optimization: Monitor the regular consumption of treatment chemicals (lime, alum, polymers, etc.) to ensure cost-effective and compliant output.
- GPCB Liaison & Documentation: Maintain mandatory registers (Form-V, Form-IV, manifest files, and logbooks) for hazardous waste generation, storage, and disposal. Ensure records are ready for routine GPCB (Gujarat Pollution Control Board) inspections.
- Sludge Management: Coordinate the collection, storage, and handling of hazardous ETP sludge and its safe transfer to common TSDF sites (like BEIL/NCT).

2. Plant Safety & Health Management

- Safety Protocols:



Implement and monitor strict adherence to on-site plant safety guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work Permit System: Manage and sign off on safe work permits (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Height Work, and Chemical Handling).
- Incident & Hazard Management: Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards (HAZOP analysis support), record near-misses, and perform root-cause analysis for any workplace incidents.
- Emergency Preparedness: Lead regular fire-fighting drills, mock drills, and maintain in office emergency gear (safety showers, eye-washes, fire extinguishers, and SCBA kits).
- Safety Trainings: Conduct regular tool-box talks (TBT) and safety induction programs for both payroll plant workers and third-party contractors.
