Job Overview

YS College invites applications from passionate, knowledgeable, and student-centric educators for the position of Lecturer in English. The ideal candidate should possess strong command over English Language and Literature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage undergraduate students through innovative teaching methodologies.

The faculty member will play a key role in developing students' language proficiency, literary appreciation, communication abilities, and critical thinking skills while contributing to the overall academic growth of the institution.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging lectures in English Language and English Literature for undergraduate programmes.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional material aligned with the university curriculum.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and communication skills.
- Guide students in literary analysis, academic writing, presentations, and research-based assignments.
- Conduct regular assessments, internal examinations, assignments, and evaluations.
- Mentor students academically and provide remedial support wherever required.
- Organize literary activities such as debates, seminars, poetry recitations, creative writing competitions, and workshops.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into classroom instruction.
- Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and academic development initiatives.
- Contribute to NAAC, IQAC, university compliance, and other institutional quality initiatives.




- Undertake examination duties and other academic responsibilities assigned by the college.

Eligibility Criteria

- Master's Degree (M.A.) in English from a recognized university with a consistently good academic record.
- NET qualification is preferred. Candidates with a Ph.D. in English will be given preference as per UGC norms.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level is desirable.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, digital teaching tools, and Learning Management Systems will be an added advantage.
