Role Purpose

The Purchase Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement of electrical, mechanical, and project-related materials to support timely project execution and manufacturing activities. The role focuses on supplier management, technical evaluation of quotations, cost optimization, timely procurement, and maintaining strong vendor relationships while ensuring quality and delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Purchase Management

- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for project and production requirements.
- Oversee purchasing of electrical and mechanical equipment, components, and consumables.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to meet project and production schedules.
- Raise purchase orders and monitor order execution until delivery.
- Coordinate with internal departments for material planning and procurement requirements.

2. Electrical Material Procurement

- Procure electrical items such as Switchgears, ACBs, VCBs, MCCBs, Power Panels, Cables, and Control Components.
- Possess working knowledge of products from ABB, Siemens, Schneider, L&T;, and other major electrical brands.
- Support in evaluating technical specifications and ensure procurement of approved materials.
- Coordinate with engineering teams for technical clarifications when required.

3. Vendor Development & Supplier Management

- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.




- Conduct supplier assessments and maintain approved vendor databases.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Develop alternate vendors for critical materials to minimize procurement risks.

4. Quotation Analysis & Cost Optimization

- Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Compare and evaluate commercial and technical offers.
- Analyze pricing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare comparative statements (CS) and recommendations for management approval.
- Ensure procurement is completed within approved budgets.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Production, Stores, Accounts, and Management teams.
- Communicate material requirements and procurement status to stakeholders.
- Resolve supplier-related issues impacting project timelines.
- Facilitate smooth communication between suppliers and internal departments.

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain purchase records, supplier details, and procurement documentation.
- Update supplier information including delivery timelines, certifications, product ranges, and performance records.
- Generate procurement reports and purchase summaries.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and documentation standards.

Critical Skill Requirements

Technical Skills (Must-Have)

- Knowledge of electrical components such as ACB, VCB, MCCB, Switchgears, Relays, Contactors, and Power Panels.





· Knowledge of purchasing raw materials like Steel, and fabricated components is an add on advantage.

- Understanding of industrial procurement processes.
- Ability to analyze technical and commercial quotations.
- Vendor evaluation and supplier development skills.
- Knowledge of Zoho ERP systems is an added advantage, MS Excel, and procurement documentation.

Experience & Background

- 5–8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain functions.
- Experience in electrical panels, EPC projects, manufacturing, industrial automation, or engineering industries preferred.
- Experience in handling technical procurement and vendor negotiations.
- Knowledge of electrical industry products and suppliers will be preferred.

Education

- Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
- OR
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) – Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

Additional Requirements

- Solid proficiency in MS Excel and procurement reporting.
- Knowledge of ZOHO/ERP systems will be an added advantage.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Good understanding of technical specifications and engineering materials.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
