A Dental Assistant supports dentists during patient examinations and dental procedures while ensuring the clinic operates efficiently. The role involves preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting with procedures, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental examinations and treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before and after procedures.
- Set up treatment rooms with the required materials and instruments.
- Welcome patients, explain procedures, and help them feel comfortable.
- Prepare dental materials such as impression materials, filling materials, and cements.
- Take and develop dental X-rays .
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure proper infection control and sterilization protocols are followed.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and place orders when required.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive dental practices.
