Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in product and component design for manufacturing applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in creating 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, material selection, and design validation. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, procurement, and project management to develop reliable and cost-effective mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities

- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and products using 3D CAD software.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with dimensions, GD&T;, tolerances, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Develop concepts, prototypes, and production-ready designs based on customer and project requirements.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design improvements.
- Implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
- Maintain design documentation, revision control, and technical records.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support during product development and production.

Required Skills





- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles.
- Expertise in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
- Excellent understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, fabrication, casting, forging, and injection molding.
- Experience in BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Understanding of material properties and selection.
- Basic knowledge of FEA analysis is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's Degree is an added advantage.

Experience

- 4–6 years of experience in Mechanical/Product Design within a manufacturing workplace.
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, consumer products, or precision engineering is preferred.
