Azure Data QA Engineer
to join our team on a
contractual basis (1 year)
. This role is based in
Pune or Bangalore (Hybrid working)
, and we are seeking candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period (2–3 weeks). The ideal candidate will have
4–5 years of strong experience in Data Quality Assurance
, with a specific focus on
Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data Factory, and Spark SQL
. Unlike data engineering roles, this position is focused entirely on
data testing and quality validation
, ensuring that data pipelines, transformations, and workflows are reliable, accurate, and optimized.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced

to contribute to enterprise-scale data solutions while working closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to validate and ensure the quality of mission-critical data systems.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality Assurance & Testing
Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines built on
Azure Data Bricks and Azure Data Factory
.
Validate
ETL processes, data transformations, and workflows
to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Write and execute
complex SQL and Spark SQL queries
to test and validate large datasets.
Conduct
functional, regression, and performance testing
of data solutions.
Collaboration & Understanding Data Systems
Work closely with
engineering and product teams
to understand complex data systems, business rules, and requirements.




Partner with data engineers and analysts to identify data issues and ensure high-quality outputs.
Document test plans, test cases, and test results for transparency and compliance.
Data Validation & Issue Resolution
Develop and implement scalable test strategies for structured and unstructured data.
Proactively identify data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and edge cases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to
troubleshoot, track, and resolve data quality issues
.
Continuous Improvement
Recommend process improvements for
data validation, automation, and reporting
.
Ensure compliance with
best practices in QA and data governance
.
Stay updated on new features in Azure Data services and testing methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
4–5 years of experience
in
Data Quality Assurance / Data Testing
roles.
Strong expertise in
Azure Data Bricks
and
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
.
Hands-on experience with
Spark SQL
and writing/optimizing complex SQL queries.
Proven experience in
data validation, ETL testing, and data pipeline QA
.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to handle large, complex data systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.
Ability to join
immediately or within 2–3 weeks
(mandatory).
