NOC Engineer

Candidate will be responsible for the monitoring of all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Engineer will be part of Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) team and ensure that Infrastructure remains operational through proactively identifying, investigating and resolving incidents triggered via Network Monitoring Systems, ServiceNow and emails. Candidate will liaise with all stakeholders including GNOC west team members, vendors and carriers(ISPs) to expedite diagnosis of errors and problems and to identify a resolution. Engineers will be responsible to open a TAC (Technical Assistant Center) case with respective vendors and follow-up until the resolution.
Responsibilities
Handle the diagnosis and correction of infrastructure problems.
Troubleshoots network problems in timely manner.
Provide internal analysis and support to ensure proper criticality during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
Participate in the infrastructure design, monitoring and documentation process.
Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
Responsible for the quality of work in technical design, implementation, testing and alignment to technical compliance standards.




Provide lead support and direction to the team for the overall health and maintenance of all infrastructure assets.
Skills Needed
4+ years of experience with Routing/Switching, DNS, Load Balancing, Virtualization, Infrastructure operations support.
Hands-on experience on handling large Enterprise Networks and support.
Experienced knowledge on Network Protocols: Static, RIP, ISIS, EIGRP,OSPF, BGP, MPLS.
Skilled on configuration and Troubleshooting of Routing Protocols like RIP Version2, EIGRP, OSPF, LAN technologies like VLAN, VTP, Inter VLAN Routing, VLAN Trunking (IEEE *****Q, ISL) etc.
Bachelors Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field required.
Specific technical experience working with one or more of the following areas: Cisco, Arista, Cumulus, F5, AVI, VMware, Cloud Computing, SDWAN etc.
Experienced knowledge of one or more of the following: infrastructure and server theories, application infrastructure and standards, networking fundamentals.
Must be willing to learn new technologies while being able to adapt to a fast pace service driven setting.
Detailed understanding of software defined networking, automation and orchestration.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to communicate to all levels of peers, customers, and leadership.
CCNA, CCPN or relevant networking certification will be preferred.
