The Production Specialist (PrePress / Preflight) is responsible for managing and executing the prepress and preflighting processes, ensuring the accuracy and quality of materials for both print and digital platforms. This role involves working closely with internal and offshore production teams to deliver high-quality educational content on time. The ideal candidate will play an active role in reviewing, composing, and correcting files while maintaining consistency across all deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and ensure compliance of design and web files (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word) with project specifications.
Conduct detailed checks for file format, color management, fonts, page structure, black overprint, accessibility, image resolution, and text wraps.
Manage and refine InDesign files, ensuring fidelity and consistency throughout assigned projects.
Develop and maintain InDesign preflight profiles aligned with print and project standards.
Upload printer proofs, monitor feedback, and track correction and approval status.
Validate compatibility of proofs across print and digital platforms.
Collaborate with design, digital, and product teams to ensure project alignment and smooth workflow.




Create interactive PDFs with navigation, bookmarks, and forms using InDesign.
Follow and apply brand or project-specific style guides.
Participate in project meetings, document key actions, and ensure follow-ups.
Maintain explicit and consistent communication with supervisors, vendors, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
Ensure adherence to best practices and maintain proper documentation.
Required Skills:
Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Preflight, PitStop, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, and related publishing tools.
Strong understanding of editorial markup and its implementation.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in prepress and preflight processes.
Experience in K–12 educational publishing (print and digital) preferred.
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems.
