Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal Stamping to ensure effective implementation of in-process quality systems for sheet metal stamping operations. The role involves monitoring manufacturing processes, reducing defects, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform First-Off, Setup Approval, In-Process (Patrol), and Last Piece inspections.
- Ensure adherence to Control Plans, SOPs, Work Instructions, and customer quality requirements.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Dial Gauges, and Profile Projectors.
- Coordinate CMM inspections and support Gauge R&R; (MSA) studies.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and scrap trends and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and support 8D & CAPA implementation.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan,



SPC, MSA, and IATF 16949 requirements.
- Participate in Internal Audits, Layered Process Audits (LPA), and customer audits.
- Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Maintenance, Engineering, and Customer Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support Current Product Development (NPD), trial runs, capability studies, and PPAP documentation.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Stamping processes.
- Expertise in GD&T; and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, and IATF 16949.
- Experience with CMM coordination and dimensional inspection.
- Knowledge of Quality Tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, CAPA, and Kaizen.
- Proficiency in precision measuring instruments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Eligibility

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sheet Metal Stamping Quality or Automotive Manufacturing Quality.
- Experience in Tier-1/Tier-2 Automotive Manufacturing Companies is preferred.

Salary

₹8.00 LPA – ₹10.00 LPA (Based on experience and interview performance)
