Job Posting: Plant Manager – Rendering Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to lead and optimize our daily rendering operations. In this role, you will have full operational and financial oversight of our facility, ensuring maximum production yields, strict environmental and odor compliance, and a world-class safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Excellence: Direct all raw material receiving, continuous/batch processing, and storage lines to maximize tallow and protein meal yields.

2. Regulatory & Environmental Compliance: Act as the primary champion for environmental standards, strictly managing biofilters, scrubbers, wastewater discharge limits, and HACCP/FSMA safety plans.

3. Maintenance Optimization: Partner with engineering to execute robust preventative maintenance schedules, minimizing unplanned downtime on critical machinery (cookers, screw presses, boilers).

4. Financial Control: Manage the annual operating budget (P&L;), drive continuous improvement initiatives to lower utility costs,



and help identify high-ROI Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects.

5. Team Leadership: Foster a "Zero Harm" safety culture, enforce LOTO protocols, and mentor/develop supervisors and floor operators.

6. Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or equivalent technical experience.

Experience: 3+ years of supervisory or management experience specifically within a rendering plant, integrated meat processing facility, or heavy agricultural wet-processing workplace.

7. Technical Expertise: Deep mechanical aptitude regarding continuous/batch cookers, screw presses, centrifuges, and high-pressure boiler systems.

Skills: Familiarity with PLC/SCADA control interfaces and CMMS software. Strong communication skills for managing both floor staff and regulatory inspectors.
