Role: Equity Research Analyst - Alternative Investment Fund (AIF)

About the Role:

We are seeking a rigorous and inquisitive Equity Research Analyst to join our team at Aurinko AIF, a Category III Alternative Investment Fund. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in generating actionable investment ideas through fundamental analysis, building and maintaining financial models, and tracking companies and sectors to support portfolio decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of financial statements, strong analytical and valuation skills, and the ability to distil complex information into clear, decision-ready insights in a quick-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct fundamental research on companies and sectors, including analysis of financial statements, business models, and competitive positioning
- Build, maintain, and refine detailed financial models and valuation frameworks (DCF, relative valuation, sum-of-the-parts)
- Generate and present investment ideas with clear theses, catalysts, and risk-reward assessments to the CIO / Portfolio Manager
- Track quarterly results, management commentary, and industry developments for the coverage universe
- Attend earnings calls, analyst meets, and management interactions, and summarize key takeaways
- Monitor macroeconomic trends, policy changes, and market events impacting portfolio holdings
- Support portfolio construction, position sizing, and ongoing performance and risk monitoring

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics,



Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CFA, CA, or FRM are a plus.

Experience:

- 1.5-5 years of experience as an equity research analyst or in a similar role within AIFs, hedge funds, mutual funds, or sell-side research.

Technical Skills:

- Strong financial modelling, valuation, analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and other similar software.
- Sound understanding of accounting and the ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
- Familiarity with technical & chart patterns are a plus.

Behavioral Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting ideas to internal teams.
- Intellectual curiosity, high level of integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Pay: ₹1,300,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
