JOB SUMMARY:
As an Architect in the Subs & Pay team at JioHotstar, you will shape the long-term technical vision and lead the architectural evolution of our advertising systems - spanning ad serving, targeting, measurement, and optimization. You will work across teams and tech stacks to design scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-efficient systems that power mission-critical monetization. This is a hands-on, high-influence role that combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking. You'll partner closely with engineering leaders, product, and data science to align architecture with business goals, while also mentoring engineers and driving a culture of engineering excellence across the org.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
Subscriptions and Payments Team powers the end-to-end direct monetization engine for India's largest subscription platform, with over 250M+ subscriptions. We build scalable, multi-tenant systems for acquiring users via D2C and partner channels, reducing churn through intelligent renewal and retry mechanisms, and integrating deeply with global and local payment ecosystems like UPI Autopay and card mandates. Our platform drives seamless onboarding, high retention, and reliable payments at scale—enabling frictionless subscription experiences across geographies and devices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the management of operational excellence, focusing on efficiency in cost and operations, and providing guidance for the team's improvement
Ensure the quality of the overall architecture and design of various systems and components
Simplify complex problems into straightforward solutions
Develop technical roadmaps for future directions and technological advancements
Understand system interdependencies and limitations to facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution within teams
Take ownership of building and launching key components and systems
Influence teams technically to enhance productivity and effectiveness,



while also mentoring on advanced technical matters for career development
Facilitate rapid prototyping to identify and eliminate blind spots
