We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented Plant Head to lead our manufacturing facility and drive operational excellence.

Job Summary

The Plant Head will be responsible for the overall management of the manufacturing plant, ensuring protected, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting production, quality, and delivery targets. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations

- Lead complete plant operations from raw material receipt to final dispatch.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources.
- Drive operational excellence, productivity improvement, and process optimization.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.

Production Management

- Achieve monthly and annual production targets.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, assembly, blasting, painting, packing, and dispatch activities.
- Improve machine utilization and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Ensure adherence to delivery schedules.

Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate closely with PPC, Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Projects, and Dispatch teams.
- Review production schedules and prioritize work orders.




- Ensure timely availability of materials and fabrication drawings.

Quality Management

- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards.
- Minimize rejection and rework through preventive quality systems.
- Monitor inspections, documentation, and traceability.

Safety & Compliance

- Promote a zero-accident work culture.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company safety policies.
- Implement 5S, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintenance

- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.

Cost & Productivity

- Improve material yield and labour productivity.
- Control manufacturing costs, wastage, and consumable usage.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen practices.

Team Leadership

- Lead Production, PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Dispatch, and Administration teams.
- Mentor department heads and develop future leaders.
- Conduct performance reviews and drive employee engagement.

MIS & Reporting

- Monitor plant KPIs including production, quality, OEE, rejection, downtime, delivery performance, and cost.
- Prepare and present periodic operational reports to management.

Required Skills

- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Extensive experience in PEB or structural steel manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrication, welding,



blasting, painting, and dispatch operations.
- Excellent understanding of production planning and factory management.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Civil, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations Management is preferred.
- 9-15 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a senior plant leadership role within the PEB or structural steel industry.
