Job Summary
As a Software Engineering Manager at NetApp, you will lead a team operating at the intersection of cloud-native development and platform engineering. Your role involves designing, developing, deploying, and refining enterprise-grade solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging modern programming languages and frameworks. You will ensure high availability, scalability, and security across distributed systems while driving innovation and operational excellence.
You will build and maintain robust platforms through automation, microservices architecture, and container orchestration. You will guide the development of features using Golang and .NET Core, ensuring adherence to best practices and enterprise standards. Collaboration with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams is essential to deliver solutions that meet business objectives and compliance requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, global environment, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in software development,
with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures on Microsoft Azure, including services such as AKS, App Services, Functions, and Storage.
- Hands-on expertise in Golang and .NET Core, with a strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Robust knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform).
- Familiarity with cloud security best practices, performance optimization, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
Leadership & Communication:
- Ability to provide both strategic direction and hands-on technical guidance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders and engineering teams effectively.
- Experience in mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and driving high-quality deliverables.
Preferred:
- Exposure to distributed systems, high-availability architectures, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile environments and managing cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of up to 12 engineers.
- Drive software delivery excellence while maintaining service reliability.
- Partner with engineering, product, SRE, and cloud platform teams to streamline releases.
- Champion CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, test automation, and developer productivity initiatives.
- Oversee production services, incident management, root cause analysis, and service reliability.
- Track and improve key engineering metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and MTTR.
- Present insights and progress to stakeholders, including leadership, partners, and customers.
Education
- A minimum of a 10 years of experience and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
