- FPGA Development: Design, implement, and test digital logic using VHDL (or Verilog/System Verilog) for Xilinx.
- Signal Processing: Implement Real-Time Digital Signal Processing (DSP) blocks such as FIR/IIR filters and FFTs
- Hardware Interfacing: Develop and debug drivers for basic peripherals including I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO.
- Communication Systems: Implement and troubleshoot analog and digital communication schemes (e.g., Modulation/Demodulation, or RF interfacing).
- Verification: Conduct RTL simulation using tools like ModelSim or Vivado Simulator to ensure design integrity.
- Hardware Bring-up:
Collaborate with the hardware team to debug physical PCBs using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
- Hands on experience in FPGA design and VHDL coding.
- Communication Theory: Analog signal chains (ADCs/DACs).
- Peripherals: Hands-on experience with low-speed serial protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
- DSP Knowledge: Ability to translate mathematical algorithms (MATLAB/Embedded C) into productive hardware architectures.
- Tools & Environment.
- Proficiency in Xilinx Vivado.
- Experience with simulation and waveform analysis.
- Basic understanding of timing closure and constraints (SDC/XDC).
