Job Summary
The Naval Architect will be responsible for the design, modification, technical evaluation, stability assessment, and structural analysis of marine vessels, including FRP boats, RIBs and other marine craft. The incumbent will coordinate with clients, classification societies, shipyards, and internal engineering teams to ensure compliance with statutory and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and review General Arrangement (GA) drawings, structural drawings, stability booklet, and production drawings as per the company requirement day to day.
· Perform vessel stability calculations, weight estimation, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses.
· Design and modify FRP boats, patrol boats, workboats, and other marine vessels.
· Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and engineering documentation.
· Coordinate with classification societies, regulatory authorities, and clients for design approvals.
· Assist in new vessel construction, refit, repair, and conversion projects.
· Conduct onboard inspections, technical surveys, and vessel measurements whenever required.
· Support production and maintenance teams by resolving technical issues during construction and repairs.
· Review material specifications and recommend suitable marine-grade materials.
· Ensure compliance with applicable marine regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
· Coordinate with procurement, production, and project teams for timely execution of projects.
· Prepare engineering calculations, technical presentations, and project reports.
· Visit project sites, shipyards, and customer locations as and when required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture / Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering
Experience
· 5-7 years of relevant experience in naval architecture, ship design, shipbuilding, marine engineering,
or vessel repair projects
· Experience in FRP boats, patrol boats, workboats, defence vessels, or commercial vessels will be preferred.
Technical Skills
· AutoCAD
· Rhino / Maxsurf / AutoShip or equivalent naval architecture software
· Microsoft Office
· Hull design and structural calculations
· Stability calculations & Weight estimation
· Marine standards and regulations
· Technical documentation

· Classification Society Rules (IRS, DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, etc.)
· Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard technical specifications (preferred)
Reporting To
General Manager – Operations / Engineering
Compensation & Benefits
· CTC: 50K to 70K per month

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in defence marine projects, FRP boats, patrol boats, shipbuilding, ship repair, or marine maintenance. Candidates willing to travel to project sites across India will be preferred.
