Job Description: Academic Counselor - Study Abroad

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Academic Counselor specialized in Study Abroad to join our dynamic team. As an Academic Counselor, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students and their families through the study abroad planning process. Your expertise in international education, knowledge of diverse educational systems, and passion for empowering students will enable them to make informed decisions about their educational journey abroad. Responsibilities:

1. Student Counseling:

- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students and their parents to understand their study abroad aspirations, academic interests, and career goals.
- Provide personalized guidance and recommendations based on individual needs, academic background, and interests.
- Offer information about various study abroad programs, universities, countries, scholarships, and visa requirements.

2. Study Abroad Planning:

- Assist students in selecting suitable study abroad programs and universities based on their academic profile and preferences.
- Support students in the application process, including reviewing and editing application documents, essays, and statements of purpose.

3. Educational Pathways:

- Advise students on academic pathways, course selection, and credit transfers to ensure seamless integration into foreign universities.
- Stay up-to-date with changing academic and immigration policies in various study destinations to provide accurate information.

4. Financial Guidance:

- Provide guidance on study abroad costs, scholarships, financial aid options, and budgeting to help students plan their finances effectively.




- Assist students in understanding the financial implications of studying abroad and explore funding opportunities.

5. Cultural Orientation:

- Conduct orientation sessions to prepare students for cultural differences, academic expectations, and life abroad.
- Share insights into the host country's culture, lifestyle, and social norms to promote successful adaptation.

6. Relationship Management:

- Foster strong relationships with partner universities, educational institutions, and scholarship providers to enhance study abroad opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including admissions, marketing, and finance, to ensure a seamless study abroad process.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or related fields (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a Study Abroad Counselor or in international education advising.
- In-depth knowledge of study abroad programs, universities, and admission processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with diverse students and families.
- Familiarity with standardized tests (TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, etc.) and admissions requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Multilingual proficiency is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for education fairs or partner university visits.

Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
