Controller (Ahmedabad, India) Position Summary Sikich is seeking a Controller with 8+ years of accounting or audit experience. The ideal candidate must have experience in US GAAP general accounting, financial statement preparation or review/audit, and team management experience. The Controller will own oversee the month-end close and accounting processes of our clients.nnnThis role is highly client-facing and requires close collaboration with U.S.-based engagement teams and executive client stakeholders. The accounting professionals at Sikich are highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals where one excels in providing strategic and tactical accounting, finance strategies and infrastructure critical to leadership planning.nnnWhat will you do in this role nnnOwn the monthly and annual close processes for assigned clientsOwn accuracy and completeness of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and client-specific policies. In some instances, help clients implement accrual and GAAP practicesAnalyze financial results and provide variance explanations and actionable insightsSupport technical accounting topics, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), accruals, consolidations, complex transactions (Opening Balance Sheet review), etc.Serve as the primary accounting lead for a portfolio of clients across industries (e.G., SaaS, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, professional services, healthcare, etc.)Establish and strengthen internal controls and accounting processesSupport audit readiness and coordinate with external auditorsOwn the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reporting for assigned clientsAdvise clients on accounting policies, controls and process improvementsBuild strong relationships with U.S.-based clients,



acting as a trusted advisor on accounting and financial mattersParticipate in regular client meetings (often overlapping U.S. time zones) to review financial results, address issues, and provide insightsManage and mentor a team of accountants that perform the day-to-day accountingOwn quality and timeliness of all client deliverables and ensure adherence to quality and turnaround standardsDrive process improvements, standardization, and automation within client engagementsCollaborate with U.S.-based managers/directors to align on deliverables, timelines, and priorities What do you need to succeed in this role Bachelors Degree in Accounting and CA, CPA (US), MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualified qualification preferred, with demonstrated experience in U.S. GAAP accounting.CPA (US) is a major plus.Strong understanding of US GAAP.Managed team(s) having at least 10-20 team members.Prior experience in a Delivery Management role for a US based firm.Experience with U.S. accounting systems (e.G., NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)Knowledge of US accounting systems.Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Office.Organizational skills to manage a big team and strategic client engagements.Self-motivated with strong work ethic.Proactive approach to accuracy and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Leadership and team management skills.Possesses a combination of both problem-solving and innovation skills to attend to several technical production challenges.nAbout SikichnSikich offers the public and private sectors a varied platform of professional services across consulting, technology and compliance.
