Job Description: A Deputy Manager in steel manufacturing acts as the middle-layer leader connecting senior management to shop-floor operations, overseeing production, safety, quality control, and personnel. Key duties include achieving daily production targets (melting/rolling), maintaining equipment efficiency, reducing waste, and enforcing safety protocols in plants. Key Responsibilities

- Production Execution: Develop and implement daily/monthly plans, ensuring blast furnace, electric arc furnace (EAF), or rolling mill operations meet targets.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor KPIs to optimize yields, maximize machinery utilization, and reduce downtime.
- Quality Control: Ensure material grades meet standards and reduce product defects.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement strict occupational health and safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free work workplace.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate shop floor workers and engineers.
- Maintenance Coordination:



Collaborate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Resource Management: Monitor raw materials, inventory, and consumables.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 10–12 years of experience in steel manufacturing (Blast Furnace/EAF/Rolling Mills).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of steel-making processes, heat treatment, and furnace operations.
- Leadership/Soft Skills: Strong communication, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Tools: Knowledge of ERP/SAP systems and MS Excel.

- Reports to: Manager/Plant Head/DGM.
- Reports: Production Engineers, Operators, Technicians.
