Job Description: A Production Supervisor in a foundry plant manages daily metal casting operations. They lead floor staff, troubleshoot equipment (furnaces, molding lines), schedule shifts, and analyze production records to minimize downtime and casting defects while strictly enforcing safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

- Production Management: Oversee daily melting, sand preparation, molding, pouring, and finishing (fettling) to meet scheduled targets.
- Quality Control: Monitor castings to meet specifications, reducing rejection rates and resolving metallurgical deviations.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, and ensure compliance with ISO manufacturing standards.
- Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and supervise floor workers and operators, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repair of machinery (e.g., core shooters,



melting furnaces, and material handling systems).
- Reporting: Compile and analyze shift records, including heat-wise data and employee productivity metrics.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 3 to 5 years in a foundry, steel, or heavy engineering manufacturing workplace.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, furnace operations, core-making (e.g., cold box/shell core), and casting defects.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving abilities, shift-handling, and intermediate computer proficiency for reporting.
