Position Summary

MAIN DUTIES :

- Performs detailed design and leads new product development (hose & hose assemblies) by applying engineering principles and industry standards.
- Design and analysis at assembly level on divisions products/systems. Makes individual contributions of substantial technical importance.
- Creates solutions to diverse and difficult engineering problems; develops project goals and milestones and controls project budget.
- Takes personal initiative for advanced new products or technology development.
- Completes required technical documentation, and generates reports, procedures, or change proposals as required.
- Provides in-depth technical information for review with product engineering and design review team.
- end-to-end new product development for rubber hose and hose assemblies, performing assembly-level design and complex engineering analysis, solving diverse technical problems, defining project goals, milestones, and budgets, and taking initiative in new technology development and innovation.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

- On-time launch of New Products to meet organization PVI goal
- Design optimization solution on sustaining products to achieve organization SBD goal
- File invention disclosure on innovative products/process




- Product test compliance as per International Industry standards
- Industry Certification compliance like ABS, DNV, LR for recent products
- Update Bill of Material for the new product and current product as per requirement
- Work with customers and operations through the design and implementation of product line extensions, productivity improvements, and simple by-design activities

Qualifications

JOB HOLDER'S REQUIREMENT :

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Polymer/Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial)

- 3-5 years of engineering and manufacturing experience and knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling and materials.

- Conversant with rubber/plastic product manufacturing process and machinery

- Knowledge of functioning of laboratory equipment used in rubber industry like Rheometer, Mooney viscometer, UTM, etc.

- Knowledge of functioning of laboratory equipment used in rubber/plastic industry.

- Must demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written communication skills.

- PC Literate (AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, Access, Project, Lotus Notes preferred).

- Conversant with new product development procedures like APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA
