Responsibilities

- Define and lead enterprise-wide performance engineering strategies across APIs, web applications, batch systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Design and execute load, stress, endurance, scalability, capacity, and performance testing initiatives.
- Establish performance benchmarks, non-functional requirements (NFRs), and acceptance criteria within the SDLC lifecycle.
- Analyze application performance across distributed systems, databases, middleware, networks, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance.
- Leverage AI and Machine Learning capabilities for:

- Intelligent workload modeling
- Anomaly detection
- Predictive capacity forecasting
- Automated root cause analysis
- Evaluate and standardize AI-powered performance engineering and observability tools.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks, dashboards, reporting solutions, and performance assets.
- Define and track enterprise performance KPIs and provide actionable insights to leadership teams.
- Participate in architecture reviews and proactively identify performance risks.
- Work closely with Product, Development, DevOps, Cloud, Security,



QA, and Operations teams to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Integrate performance testing within CI/CD pipelines for continuous performance validation.
- Mentor team members and establish performance engineering best practices across the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives around scalability, reliability, resilience, and system optimization.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

- 10+ years of experience in Performance Engineering, Performance Testing, or Non-Functional Testing.
- Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as:

- JMeter
- LoadRunner
- k6
- Gatling
- Similar enterprise performance testing tools
- Strong understanding of:

- Distributed systems
- Microservices architecture
- REST APIs
- Event-driven systems
- Cloud infrastructure
- Enterprise networking concepts
- Experience designing and executing:

- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Endurance Testing
- Scalability Testing
- Capacity Testing
- Strong expertise integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with observability platforms, monitoring tools, logging, metrics, and tracing.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages:

- Java
- Python
- JavaScript
- C
- Experience defining and validating Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend performance optimization strategies.

Preferred Skills

- Insurance domain experience.
- Exposure to Capacity Planning.
- Experience with Resiliency Testing and Chaos Engineering.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
