Role: TSYS Prime Application Tester

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in testing the TSYS Prime card management platform. The role is responsible for validating card issuing, acquiring, and account management functionality against business and technical requirements, ensuring high-quality releases through structured functional and regression testing. The successful candidate will bring solid payments-domain knowledge, an understanding of the card lifecycle and transaction processing, and the ability to work closely with business analysts, developers, and product owners to deliver reliable outcomes across the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories related to TSYS Prime modules (card issuing, account management, transaction processing, billing, statements, collections, etc.) to derive comprehensive test scenarios.
- Design, document, and maintain functional test cases, test scripts, and requirement traceability matrices covering the end-to-end card lifecycle — from account setup and card issuance through authorization, clearing, settlement, and posting.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT-support testing across TSYS Prime and its interfacing systems.
- Validate transaction flows, parameter/product configuration, interest and fee calculations, statements, and back-end data within Prime.
- Perform test data setup and validation, including creating and configuring card accounts, products, and transaction test conditions.
- Log, track,



and manage defects through to closure using a defect management tool, and re-test fixes to confirm resolution.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners during requirement reviews, sprint planning, and defect triage.
- Provide clear test status reporting — coverage, execution progress, defect metrics, and release readiness — to project stakeholders.
- Support release, parameter migration, and post-deployment validation activities as needed.

Essential Skills:

- Strong hands-on functional knowledge of the TSYS Prime application, including its core card management, issuing/acquiring, and account processing modules.
- Solid understanding of the card/payments domain — card lifecycle, authorization, clearing and settlement, posting, billing, statements, interest and fees.
- Good understanding of the full software testing lifecycle (STLC) and defect management lifecycle.
- Proven experience in test case design, execution, and requirement traceability.
- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM/Quality Center, Zephyr, or Azure DevOps).
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for back-end data validation (Prime is commonly deployed on Oracle/DB2 — specify as applicable).
- Strong analytical,



problem-solving, and requirement-analysis skills, with clear verbal and written communication for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of card scheme rules and interfaces (Visa, Mastercard) and message standards such as ISO 8583.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery and participation in sprint ceremonies.
- Familiarity with interface/API testing (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) for Prime's inbound/outbound interfaces.
- Experience with mainframe/batch processing and validation of batch cycles, given Prime's batch-oriented processing.
- Basic exposure to test automation concepts or tools (e.g., Selenium) is an advantage.
- Experience supporting UAT and coordinating with business users in a banking or fintech environment.

Experience:

- 5–8 years of overall experience in software/functional testing.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience testing the TSYS Prime application (specify minimum years on Prime, e.g., 3+ years).
- Solid payments/cards domain experience, ideally with a card issuer, acquirer, processor, or banking technology provider.
- Experience across at least one full end-to-end delivery or release cycle involving Prime in an enterprise environment.

Qualification:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (or equivalent QA certification) preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering quality outcomes in functional testing roles within the payments, cards, or banking domain.
