Job Descritpion of Couchbase Developer

6 to 8 Years Relevant Experience

A highly experienced Couchbase specialist with 5+ years of managing enterprise-grade Couchbase clusters. Proven expertise in architecture design, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and automation in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Cluster Management:
- Design, deploy, configure, and manage Couchbase clusters across production, staging, and development environments.
- Manage multi-node, multi-region Couchbase deployments with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

- Performance Optimization:
- Optimize queries using N1QL and fine-tune performance with advanced indexing and data modeling.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system health using Couchbase UI, Prometheus, Grafana, and other observability tools.

- Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and maintain automated backup strategies using cbbackupmgr.
- Regularly test restore procedures to ensure data integrity and durability.

- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and manage role-based access controls, encryption, and auditing to ensure compliance with security standards.

- Automation & Scripting:
- Automate routine database operations using Ansible,



shell scripts, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate Couchbase management with DevOps tools and processes.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure smooth integration, performance, and compliance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident management.

Technical Skills:

Must-Have:

- Couchbase architecture: Data, Query, Index, Full-Text Search, Eventing, Analytics services
- Couchbase XDCR, clustering, patching, and upgrades
- N1QL query optimization and JSON data modeling
- Couchbase monitoring and troubleshooting
- Linux/Unix systems administration and performance tuning
- Scripting: Shell, Ansible
- Backup/restore tools:cbbackupmgr,etc.
- Excellent communication skills

Valuable-to-Have:

- Kubernetes and Couchbase Autonomous Operator
- Couchbase on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog for observability
- DevOps tools for deployment automation
- Knowledge of other databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra)
- ITIL framework familiarity
- Cloud Database Certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
